The current COVID related scenario for the BMTS is

B – Clusters of infections have been detected; the spread of coronavirus increases but is kept under control.
2+2 rule; occupancy of public space up to 50%, using masks is required.

BMTS prefers to use contact learning. In case a student needs online learning, he or she must inform the Academic Dean no later than Tuesday morning before the beginning of the study session.


In case scenarios D or C are implemented, all BMTS lectures will go online.

In case scenarios B or A are implemented, BMTS lectures will go online only in case students express such a wish to the Academic Dean.

Below is a summary of the COVID related education scenarios established by the Ministry of Education as it applies to colleges and universities, together with the resulting plan agreed upon by the BMTS.

A – Spread of SARS-CoV-2 in the society is minimal or does not exist.
Educational institutions work as usual. In case someone has infection in the classroom or study group, those who have been in contact with confirmed case must stay home for 14 days and continue with distance learning.
2+2 rule; occupancy of public space up to 50%.

BMTS works using contact learning. Distance learning (online) is available to students, who have symptoms, who have been in close contact with someone who is sick, or whose travel is restricted. In case a student needs online learning, he or she must inform the Academic Dean no later than Tuesday morning before the beginning of the study session.

C – The coronavirus has spread outside of clusters; infection rate is high and barely controllable.
Universities may continue to operate, 2+2 rule; occupancy of public space up to 50%, use of masks is compulsory.

BMTS prefers to use distance learning (online), but students are allowed to participate in the classroom. Overnight stays in the dormitory are discouraged, but exceptional permission can be requested from the building manager.

D – The spread of coronavirus is very high; infection rate is out of control.
Classrooms are closed for students.

BMTS uses only distance learning (online).
