The Estonian Methodist Church (EMC) invites applications for the post of Rector of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary (BMTS) from 01.08.2024.
With a dedicated team, the nationally accredited Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary offers theological education in three languages and is a unique international and ecumenical Theological Seminary of Estonia.
The Rector of BMTS must stand up for the provision of high quality higher education and the organisation of research and development. We are looking for a Christian with good collaboration and leadership skills. Candidates for the post of Rector must have a doctorate or master's degree and professional experience in academia.
The Rector's duties include managing the work of the Seminary in accordance with the guidelines of the EMC and the Seminary's Board of Trustees, organising development activities, and being responsible for the acquisition and targeted use of the Seminary's financial resources. The Rector guides the development of the theological and educational vision of the Seminary, leads the Seminary in both administrative and clerical areas, and builds a Seminary community that deeply values faith, learning, spiritual formation and practical service. We expect the new Rector to have knowledge of the organisation of higher education and theology; leadership experience; proficiency in Estonian at least at C1 level; proficiency in English at least at B2 level; Russian would also be an asset.
The post is located in Tallinn, Narva mnt 51. Partial home office working is possible.
