At that time, I wanted to show Jakob “the greater way” (to paraphrase a well-known passage from the New Testament), because at that time I believed that the Christian worldview was nothing more than an ancient conspiracy theory. So we sometimes spent time together in a rather heated atmosphere, but mostly we just shared life. In 2011, with Jakob’s support, I attended a youth festival called “Bible Days”. There, after the sermon, I felt a strong call from God. However, after this I continued to live as I saw fit. At the same time, I began to read the New Testament critically, seeking answers to questions about its reliability. In early 2014, I came to repentance, realizing that God had mercy on me. In the summer of that year, I was baptized. Since then, I have been actively involved in the life of the church and live in accordance with God's providence. I do what is necessary. In 2015, God called me to study theology. My heart is especially set on teaching young people, instructing them in the knowledge and application of New Testament doctrines.
I am married to Hela-Maria Kangro, who is also a theologian by training. We have two sons. On Wednesdays, we celebrate Holy Wednesdays alternately, so that both strangers and new acquaintances gather around our home table. I love football, where I find an outlet and a break from intellectual work. I am a licensed football referee and whenever possible I act as an assistant referee at minor league matches in the South Estonian region. In addition, I lead a football club twice a month at the Mooste youth centre.
