On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the EMKTS alumni gathering took place.

At the gathering, the new rector of the seminary, Laur Lilleoja, welcomed the alumni. He presented his vision and future plans for the seminary, and afterward, the alumni had the opportunity during group discussions to propose potential points of connection between the seminary and the alumni. We received many valuable ideas – we take them seriously and are grateful that you shared them with us!

We had lunch together and took pictures in front of the photo wall.

Taavi Hollman gave a tour of the building – introducing the seminary's rooms and the church. In the church hall, under the guidance of Marten Meibaum, participants had the opportunity to see the organ up close and even try playing it.

The alumni had a great opportunity to test their theological and seminary-related knowledge in a Kahoot quiz.

After that, the seminary dean Mark Nelson gave a mini-lecture on the Law of Moses and Christian ethics.

Three short presentations by alumni sparked particular interest:

  • Triin Tarendi – The Core Science of Communication?!
  • Tetyana Radomskaja – Different Generations in the Church
  • Jaanus Aurelius Kangur – Contemporary Training Trends and the Church

The event concluded with the announcement of the distinguished alumna – congratulations to Iiri Hermaküla! You are blessed with many gifts and serve in important areas.

Then cake was served, and the evening concluded with an organ concert by Marten Meibaum.

It was a wonderful day, a delightful group of people, and many joyful reunions – a chance to create new memories and refresh friendships.

We value connections and relationships – the seminary is more than just studying and gaining knowledge :)
