I grew up in a family that believed in and worshipped God. My father was a pastor and my mother was a teacher. Their example of loving service and the fellowship that I experienced growing up in a church community continue to shape my life choices, especially my commitment to follow Jesus Christ.
One of the Bible verses that has been particularly motivational for me and my life work is John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (ESV).” God has called me to share his love with the world as I have served in a variety of church ministries and theological education in North and South America and in Europe. Like the Apostle Paul (Colossians 1:28-29), I seek to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and to equip men and women to follow him, to grow in biblical wisdom and love and to teach others to do the same.
