Course Goal: To give an overview of the content of the New Testament; present theological, literary and historical issues arising from the context of the text..

Course Outcomes: Understands the social and cultural conditions that contributed to the growth of the early Christian movement. Knows the criteria by which canonicality was determined and is able to explain how some of the New Testament books were considered controversial due to these criteria. Knows the dates and authors of New Testament books and the pros and cons of authoring controversial New Testament books. Become familiar with the New Testament books and understand the role these books have played in the development of Christian theology.
